this seems a small complaint, compared to some i've seen here. i agreed to a small plan with a small phone for $34.99/mo. instead, i get a monthly bill for more than $50. i notice i have a $10 'data' charge, though i never use my phone for data. how much can you grab?

That sounds like a premium SMS charge. You should look at your detailed bill to determine what the charge is, and if it is a premium SMS, call *611 from your phone and have them block premium SMS from your account and to remove the charge. If it is your first one, they will most likely do it.

A) Who is you? This is customer to customer forum. WE as customers ar not grabbing anything form you.
B) quit assuming Verizon is "grabbing" anything from you. As someone said it was probably a premium text. which was probably something you did yourself but was unaware you;d be charged $10 for. Block premium text so you no longer "accidentally" get charged $10 because you didn't read the fine print on some website
