Samsung Brightside: backup calendar and notes and download .jar files?

For the Samsung Brightside: Is there a software that allows you to back up your calendar and notes from your phone? Also how do I download .jar files for the phone?

My guess would be that there isn't an option to backup the calendar on the Brightside, unless you use a third party program like BitPim (Bitpim.org).

And the Brightside uses the proprietary BREW OS, so apps, programs, and games that use Java will not work on the Brightside.  For some, you may be able to find a BREW equivalent.  Is there something specific you wanted to download?
