How do I change contacts names from last name first to first name first?

I updated my phone today and ended up with contacts with last name first and would like to change it to first name first in the contact list.   I cannot find where to make that change.  Can someone tell me how?

I don't know what phone you have but I would think you could edit each contact and switch the name around? Mary

It is usually a setting under contacts. Last Name First, or First Name Last. However the easiest way to figure out how to do what you are asking, "read your owners manual" that is why companies make them.
