Battery didn't charge up overnight, so I tried to start it after short time on charger. I locked up on opening screen and I tried the start with volume button and it shut down. I have checked to see if it shows when I connect USP to computer and doesn't show it's attached. I have tried just pushing the start button as I read that for a reset. Model QMV78 Don't know if I could drain the battery since it isn't on. I checked the charger with my Verizon phone, seems to be working. Started problems when it didn't charge.
The problems you are experiencing are probably because the battery is too low to operate. As for not charging, I would check the port on the device to make sure there isn't anything in it, make sure it doesn't appear to be pushed in, try using a different cable, often times the tablets have a deeper port and the same cable that works on a phone won't work on the tablet. Most frequently when I have charging problems it turns out to be a cable that has become defective, on one side of the cable there are two little prongs that eventually fail and no longer hold the cable in place.
Have the correct charger & it works, so maybe the port. Looks OK, so is there any cleaning, I could do. Looks OK as far as pins, but really can't fix that. Nothing when USB to computer. I did have a couple times when it didn't charge. Only had this a few months, so I will be paying for line for the rest of contract!
If there is a Verizon store nearby you could drop by there with it and see if they can further diagnose the issue, if you have another cable definitely try it, most often when I have problems with charging it is the cable and not the device or charger.
