Will a protective case cause the S8 clock to turn on and off?

Placed a cover on my S8 phone not the clock turn on and off every few seconds. Is that a cover that will not cause this to happen, or does this have to do with the cover?

I certainly wouldn't want your phone behaving strangely like that. I appreciate you confirming. Just to make sure is this when the phone is locked the time keeps flashing? How often does this happen?

Does your case perhaps cover the proximity sensor? It's on the front of your phone, just to the left of the earpiece. That sensor tries to tell if your phone is in your pocket or to your cheek. You may want to try turning off the setting and see if that helps. Disable the setting here:

Settings > Display > Keep Screen Turned Off

I worked it out by placing a piece of paper on the back of the cover and it is work fine. Thanks everyone.
