Put the Note 5 phone on the charger last night and woke up to a dead phone. this is 2 phones in about a month. Won't power on at all

I got a replacement phone last month when the Note 5 I had was wigging out.  I've ha this new replacement phone for less than a month and today, it is completely dead.  I know the charger and the USB cable works because I can charge my tablet with it.

I tried the reset tips and nothing and the trickle charge and nothing.

Are these bad phones?  This is a serious issue as I have a long driving trip to make and no phone.
