The Samsung Galaxy S9 is a great device and we do want to make sure that everything is working like it should for you, daletabu.  Do you happen to have a case on your device?  If so, please make sure that the case is not pressing on any of the buttons on the device.  You can try pressing and holding the power key to shut the device off and then try powering it back on.  You may have to hold the power key for up to 30 seconds.  If that does not help, you can try completing a soft reboot: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-216781/.
