Anyone having an issue where the emojis no longer open in text messaging after the latest lollipop update?

i have a Galaxy Note 4 and installed the lollipop update last night. Now when I text massage anyone and try to add any emoji by choosing the emoji icon option in the message box, nothing happens except the emoji icon just illuminates. the only way I can get the emoji list to actually come up, is to back out of the keyboard and then click the emoji icon again, only then does it open up all the emoji options. you didn't have to do this work around before. Is this happening to anyone else?
