can i use samsung a127 for prepaid?

Currently use a samsung a127 throught at&t prepaid.  Thinking of switching to verizon for service reasons.  1. Do I have to get a new phone or can I switch to verizon prepaid?  2. Also would like to retain contacts & pictures on samsung if new phone is necessary.  Is this possible?

ATT and Verizon use two different technologies (GSM vs CDMA) so no, the phone can not be used as a Verizon prepaid phone.
