LG V40 thinq received photos won't save to vz media even though it says "saved"

Every time I try to save a photo someone sends in text it says "saved", but I can't find the photo anywhere.  They used to go to VZmedia but no more.  Any thoughts?

Are you using a file explorer app to navigate the internal storage system? It might have been saved to downloads or messages folder. I know pictures I save from my text messages go to a folder called messages. I then have my Google Photos setup to upload pictures saved on the Messages folder to my Google account.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I honestly don't know that answer.  My phone has always saved from text chains to VZ media, and just recently all of a sudden stopped.  I looked in the Gallery and in downloads but haven't found them anywhere.  Ive also looked in the file manager but no luck.

Open the yellow folder for files and click internal storage and in the search type VZ media to see if you can find the folder that way or look through all the folders in there.  Saw other complaints about this so something must have changed.    That's all I can think of.  I use Samsung messaging and they go in the gallery.

We would be happy to help you with your saved picture messages. If you touch and hold the image does it allow you to pick where you want the image to be saved?

I have the same issue.  Touching and holding the picture doesn't do anything.  You only have 3 options Send To New Recipient, Save to VZ Media, Delete.  I initially tried saving to VZ media multiple times.  It comes back and says that the picture is saved but it doesn't save it.  I used file manager and went through every folder but could not locate it.  I tried option 1 to see if I could email it to myself.  This option also tells you that it worked, but I never received the email.  I didn't try option 3 to delete the picture.

I also tried moving my entire VZ Media directory from internal storage to the micro sd card.  Same result.

It looks like this is a system wide bug that was introduced just recently and Verizon needs to provide a system wide fix.

Message+ seems like it has a lot of bugs.  I use the stock samsung messaging and never any issues.

+1 on using the default app. Never had an issue on finding files because I don't have some weird proprietary folder.

JimOB1, we know it is important to be able to properly save your photos. Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps so far such as clear the cache on your app?

I just encountered a weird problem and wonder if it's related to this.  I am using a verizon branded Samsung note 10+.  My browser of choice is dolphin browser and last time there was an update for it was Dec 2020 so nothing recent.  I usually back up my saved websites once a week.  I usually open the browser and click export to back up file.  There is no way I can see to change where it saves so it says bookmark file will be exported to tunnybrowser which is in internal storage.  When I go to tunny browser inside is a folder called bookmarks with the file in it and I send it to the memory card for safe keeping have done this for years across various phones.  Well now when I export to make the back up file and go to the bookmarks folder in tunnybrowser it's empty.  I wrote down the name of the file and searched and it's nowhere to be found on the phone.  This has worked for years on my phones.  My samsung galaxy tab S6 tablet I only have a few bookmarks so have never really backed up but I tried and it's doing the same thing and I am pretty sure it worked before.   Will email the app developer but will probably switch to edge browser now so I can sync with the computers but just thought this weird.
