On Saturday, October 26th my Verizon account was compromised. An individual went into a Verizon store and had my account switched to their account. I reported this to Verizon and received terrible costumer service. The service representative made me feel like it was my fault. I am confused on how someone could physically go in and the account was switched so easily. Verizon would not allow me to know the location of the store becuase its their data. I responded with Verizon allowed for my data to be compromised but I can't know the exact location of the fraud. I also received fraud on my bank account which the two could be connected. Please advise on how this will not happen again and what measures are in place to not have this happen to additioanl Verizon customers.
Julia40, are you still working with our Fraud Department regarding this matter? Have you been able to recover your account and change all of your Passwords and PIN information?

On October 21st someone called Verizon posing as me and said they'd like to add their daughter to my account and they forgot their pin. A Verizon rep named Kennedria allowed this woman to steal my phone number and connect it to a different carrier in turn allowing the woman to steal my identity. She charged things to my credit cards, tried to wipe out a 401k and called for access to my bank accounts and Verizon has given me the run around claiming it's not their fault. They willingly gave this woman my info and I am still dealing with the repercussions a week later. They disconnected the temporary number they gave me until I got my old number back without any warning and I am still having to go to bank facilities in person to prove I'm me. I will be escalating it to corporate. I feel your pain.
That's not Verizon's fault
"wipe out a 401K" ..........by getting into your Verizon account?
