Hello careylubu. We're here to help out with these battery woes after KitKat. With regards to the battery issues, I highly suggest backing up all your data, and then performing a factory reset. http://vz.to/1kxPInh Be sure to remove the SD card prior to performing the reset. This should help clear up these battery issues.

This did nothing... And I'm curious why my screen usage is so high... The

phone has been sitting the past 3hrs no usage no screen and I running with

mostly factory installed apps and the phone is hot to touch ... WHY???

I'd also like to thank you for completing these troubleshooting steps. It alarms me that the device is hot to the touch with no use. The only way this should happen is if many applications are running in the background.
