Moto X4 (unlocked) Service

Is an unlocked Moto x4 compatible with a Verizon? Motorola website shows compatibility, but I’d like to verify this.

If so, what steps are needed transfer service from my old flip phone?  I'll continue with VZW, I just want to save some money on a new phone. Thx!    -JQ-
