Same thing happened to me and I just got mine going right, pretty simple to.
- go to settings
- language and input
- then virtual keyboard
- then Gboard
- go to preferences
- go to number row, and turn on for qwerty, qwertz,, azerty
And this should fix it
Clear the cache for the keyboard application.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
I'm having the same problem after recently updating phone. No spacebar in the keyboard in vertical mode unless using the number board. Landscape keyboard works fine. Clearing the cache did nothing. Using a Moto Z Play.
Clearing the data did though. If you're having problems go into keyboard settings and clear data. Warning though, you will lose all settings.
I cleared the data and still have no space bar.

If you want your numbers separate, you can go to Preferences/Themes and just change to a different one. It seems only the white and the light gray themes aren't working. The others show the space bar just fine. Quicker than reinstalling! I'm on a Moto Z Play.
