who do I talk to or where do I go about my broken screen?

Hi, the screen to my iPhone 4 broke the other day, everything else is working just fine it's just very cracked and it's very annoying to look at. There is an iPhone screen repair kit at my office, but my coworker said that if I fix the screen myself it voids my warranty. Is this true for verizon? Also, if it is true, who would I call about getting it fixed? Can I just take it to the local verizon store by my house or do I have to send it in somewhere? I really would like it if I didn't have to send it anywhere, it's my only phone.

Do you have insurance? If not your out of luck I think. Insurance they would send you one then you send yours after.
