If you're near an Apple Store that would be the best place. Verizon also if your local store hosts classes. You can also use the Apple Support website for info on your phone and to view/download the owners manual.
You can check your local vzw corporate stores to see if they are hosting a class. If you have grandchildren, you can also ask them if you think they would be willing to show you some steps.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

You can also try your local library...there is a For Dummies series called iPhone for Dummies. Helped my Grandma get acclimated to her device.
Make an appointment with Apple and they'll give you tutorials hands on type of thing.
That's a great option also. You may want to wait a week or so. I believe I read on MacRumors that Apple was cancelling One-on-One training for the week due to iPhone 6s release. And with the volume of folks that'll be coming in and out of the local Apple Stores for the hot new device, you'd probably won't be able to understand anything with the crowd and noise level that happens inside the stores.
