"Crossed the boarder to Mexico"

I received the following message when I crossed the border into Mexico 

"Welcome to Mexico, As talk, text and data is included in your domestic plan you'll have no additional charges while roaming."

But Once I crossed the border I lost my internet connection and text messages were undeliverable (IM/ SMS).  I could only make phone calls.

Am I messing something here? Should my plan keep working?

My girl friend's plan kept working perfectly (Team Mobile).  Thank Goodness!! Need the internet to get back across the boarder (TJ's roads are so confusing and the crossing has 3 separate lines to choose from)
