compass registering backwards

My compass is backwards. 

Any ideas - seems I have tried most of what I found online.

Could be my device?

We know how important it is to have everything work properly on your phone, mcbusybee. We are here to help. 

Are you using the compass feature of the phone or are you referring to an app for GPS navigation? Do you have a case or anything adhered to the phone that has a magnet? 

Also, have you tried calibrating the compass of the phone by going to Settings, scroll down and tap Privacy, tap Location Services, then tap System Services, then choose Compass Calibration.
