MEID says phone is not activated


I bought a refurbished Verizon iPhone 6s plus from Best Buy.  Whenever I check the MEID online, it says that the activation status cannot be found in the Verizon database.  I have plugged it into the Verizon MEID checker, and it says to contact customer service.  However, I have had the phone active on my account now for at least a month with no issues.  Any idea what might be going on?  I just did a complete wipe and factory reset of the device. I would like to have this phone free and clear and I am very concerned. Thanks.
