I've only had my 4S for one week and I'm already having problems. About 80% of the time my phone does not ring when I get a call, a get the ring that I have a voice mail! I called Verizon, they said someone else had just called with the same problem, had me do a few things and then it seemed to be working, until yesterday! It only rang 2X yesterday, I missed the rest of my calls. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, any suggestions?
There's a mute switch upper left hand side of phone above volume key.
I have the same problem. My mute button is NOT on and I still miss my calls even though it's sitting right in front of me. It doesn't vibrate ( I have vibrate on ring option ON) and I also have (vibrate on silent ON). I've had friends call me on purpose and it rings (of course) but I've had phone appointments at certain times when I'm sitting by the phone waiting for the phone to ring, and it does NOT ring. I suddenly see that I have a voice message. It doesn't ring to indicate I have a voice message either!
Also I forgot to mention that when it doesn't ring, it also doesn't vibrate!
This is very frustrating. I am missing a lot of important phone calls. Again the mute button is NOT on. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank You so much, TraceyK5 and sepi!
Now that we know the switch on the top is disabled it seems as though there is a bigger problem.
Calls are not coming through vs. the phone not ringing.
How is the signal on the phone? Is it pretty steady or does it fluctuate? Can you dial *228 option 2 in order to link the phone to the closest tower. Other than that, we need you to contact technical support at 800.922.0204 option 3 to speak with techincal support to check on some things for your area because we absolutely don't want you to miss anymore important calls.

Yes, I have been having this problem for some time now. I thought I was imagining it, but it's always on and the signal is always good. Sometimes it rings, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it vibrates, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried powering all the way down and back up and it hasn't fixed. it.I see you problem has not been answered yet.

Go into settings-do not disturb
Make sure the device is set to accept calls from everyone. and that no buttons are green for do not disturb.
This is a place to ask apple iPhone questions or find quicker answers.
I would hope the original poster had the problem solved.
Good Luck
