I have a s7 edge and recently there was a change on how the lock screen works and i want to go back because now it doesnt lock my screen where i have to enter my passcode or fingerprint everytime. How can i do that?

To set up screen lock, go into Settings > Lock Screen and Security. On the next screen the top choice is Screen Lock Type. Select that and choose what of security you want to set up.

I have try to removed the lock and to reinstall the lock together with the security options but it keeps giving me the open lock that all you have to do is swipe to open the screen instead of entering the pin or fingerprint

After you set it up did you try rebooting the device to see if it functioned correctly? Also did you go into the settings on the Screen Lock and Security page under Secure Lock Settings after you entered you choice(s) of lock options and set when you wanted the screen to lock? Also be careful if the settings to wipe device if do many incorrect attempts are made. If you happen to forget the pin/password to unlock the screen, the ONLY way to get back in your device is doing a factory reset.

Yes I did rebooted it I'm thinking the only option at this point is to factory reset it but i have so much stuff that I don't want to do it hahah

I understand about having to do a factory reset. Just make sure you have everything backed up either to the Cloud and/or Google. Have you tried doing a partition cache clear?

I factory reset it and it looks like is working like before the update I hated the idea that if I forgot my cell somewhere anyone could access it because the lock wasn't working properly thanks for your help
