NCL25.86-11.5 battery issues

I bought the phone Monday night and used it all day Tuesday and it worked great. Tuesday night I did the update now for the last two days Android System has used up 30% of my battery as well as other apps. I took it to the store and they basically told me there was nothing they can do until Motorola does another update to correct the issue as I wasn't the only one who had this problem. Any solutions short term to fix this or I'm just going to return it.

@DAMAN520 The Motorola Moto Z Droid is a fantastic phone. Having a good working phone is very important. We would like to dive a bit deeper into this for you. What’s the current Software Version? Please visit http://vz.to/2tRvhZ6 and follow the steps. I would also like to know what other applications are draining the battery(percentage)? You can find this information by going to Settings > Battery.

Please visit our Battery Overview page http://vz.to/2umXXfU and our “Extend Battery Life” http://vz.to/2tRvU4U for additional information.

Generally speaking, anytime you do a software update I recommend doing a factory reset after doing so-- as this will essentially remove a lot of glitches and bugs that are sometimes present when doing the updates. I am not saying this will absolutely fix this issue but has a better chance of "optimizing" your phone to be more compatible with the software update if you do the factory reset after doing the software update but might actually remove the battery issue completely......

Let me know how it goes Smiley Happy

I am seeing the same issue with the most recent update.  Noticeably worse battery life, with the Android System using most of the resources (Android OS - 14%, Android System- 13%, Screen -10%, Phone idle-8%, Google Play Services-7%).  These never used this much battery before.  I know I can control the screen, but the rest are Android.
