Why doesn't my laptop recognize my device?

7s edge is not seen by Dell laptop.  USB ports working......?  Do I need a driver?  If so, where do I get?

Have you pulled down the phone's notification shade and changed the USB mode from charging only to File Transfer?

biwells, we want this to work for you. When connecting your device to your computer, you will get a pop up message which advises you that additional software is needed. Did a message populate on your computer when you connected to it to your device?
