Why doesn't Verizon use conversation recordings as proof?

I had an issue with an order that was canceled( I didn't cancel it, and Verizon doesn't know why it's cancelled) but now i lost a trade in promo for the iPhone 6 for $600.  Why can't Verizon pull up the conversation recording for proof?

Not every customer service conversation is recorded.
