When I try to save non-US phone numbers in Contacts, it forces the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format. It's really annoying and hard to read. To fix it I have to go to the Gmail Contacts website and re-enter the phone number.
Is there a way to override the phone number format on the phone?

While most of my phone numbers are US numbers, many of them are displayed in a format that doesn't resemble the (xxx) xxx-xxxx format. I normally use xxx.xxx.xxxx and I have no trouble dialing those numbers. Have you tried putting the number in differently on the phone?
