How do I connect my IP security camera to my Jetpack and access it remotely ?

I Have been trying to figure out how to connect to my home security camera remotely through my 4G LTE Jetpack. My camera connects wirelessly to my Jetpack. I use Verizon on my iPhone 6s, and could connect through my router. I read that you can purchase a static IP for $500, but would that work ?

I Have called four times, twice to customer service and twice to technical support. Two of those times the representative did contact their supervisor. Only businesses or government can purchase a static IP address. So the Jetpack goes back to the store and I am stuck with overpriced satellite internet service. Thanks for your help, but Verizon is behind the times on this issue. Maybe another provider can do it, but this time I will research before I buy.

Thanis again.

Yes, it is supposed to work!  Call Customer Service (800) 922-0204 to setup one.

Thanks, I did call customer service. They weren't sure how to do it, and suggested I call the camera's manufacturer.

Call back! If it happens again, try calling between 11 and 3 during regular business hours and you’re more likely to get someone that knows how and a supervisor that can push it through if the agent can’t.

I too am confused by this news.

I wonder how VZW has the ability to verify if you are a business or not.  Anyone can proclaim themselves as an independent contractor or sole proprietor of something or another.  Heck, I have owned several businesses myself in the past as a hobby or source of extra income.  In the eyes of the government working for yourself makes you a "business".  Hopefully VZW has something posted on their "business" criteria somewhere for us to share with others in the future.

More info:

If that is the case the work around would be to simply state something like "I am a business" or "I am starting a business" and you should be good to go.  Your business Tax ID would be the same as your SSN.

I am still trying to get a hold of someone at Verizon to find out about a static IP address for the Jetpack. I will report back if I get any information

I did. More research & finally talked to someone at Verizon who I feel confident knew what I was asking & answered me in an informed way. Bottom line is Verizon is working on coming out with 5G out in the rural areas. Hopefully by the end of this year...I will not hold my breath on that....but it will come eventually. When that happens we will have to upgrade our MIFI devices (of course) and at that point we will be able to use MIFI with security devices. So, lets all pray this happens & our security problems are resolved in the near future. Wouldn't it be wonderful!!!
