Hello all!

I recently bought 2 each USB620L modems for my business account and noticed that the IP address changes on them on every power cycle. I need the requirements met for a static IP on both and port forwarding on both. Are these available options? I run one computer (raspberry pi) linux and one laptop (pc win10) I need these guys to communicate remotely to one another. Please advise at your earliest convienience  as I have 14 days to determine if they can be used for my intended purpose and if not I can return them.

Thank you

As long as the modem has a reserved IP address then it is connected to Verizon’s private network and subject to their private network rules.

Basically, you have three options to work around Verizon’s restrictive private network:

1)  Call Customer Service (800) 922-0204 to setup a possible public facing static IP address.

2)  Try using a third party VPN Server such as Google Chrome Remote Desktop.

3)  Obtain internet service from another provider that uses static IP addresses.

Purchase a static IP from VZW for around $500.00

So, I purchased that expensive static ip address for both my units. Now port forwarding is my next goal. The tier 2 reps can't seem to get me going and there's nothing under advanced settings to allow this. I just need these open- can Verizon make it happen or not lol. It's tough getting emails with links to websites and how to's they send. They're supposed to be the equipment experts.. I shouldn't have to research and try to figure this out on my own.. especially when I fork over 500 bucks

You would think they might want to mention that to me when I specifically explain to them I need static ip and port forwarding before just saying it's going to cost you 500 for static then after you pay the fee they don't know what to do for you when it comes to port forwarding... man service these days.......

Port 22 for ssh on the pi ssh, 8081 for live video and 14550 for pi with navio 2 attached. Using a multirotor over lte. Live video from the multi. and receive data back to the ground station. Example: http://uavmatrix.com/Blog/38

It's not setup like a router basically. There is not a place to where I can open the ports under the device ip as far as I can tell. It's a very small program so you really can't miss it.
