Poor Coverage in Durham, NC 27704

Verizon,

I just started a new job yesterday at Almac located at 4204 Technology Drive, Durham, NC 27704 and my cell phone coverage at this location is extremely bad.  I'm currently using a iPhone 6s.  I checked the coverage for this area on your site and it reports that I should get 4G LTE.  The best coverage I get is 3G but most of the time it's 1x.  I can barely use the phone to make calls in this area.  Every time I try to make a phone call I get disconnected.  I currently have to drive to another location to make a phone call.  I checked with other people working at this company and they have the same problem.  It looks like the only carrier that works is AT&T.  Is there anything that can be done to improve the coverage?

Thanks,

Brent

Having service where you need it and when you need is priority number one! We want you to have the service in which you depend upon, Digitalnewt. We would like to check on a few settings on your device. Is this area the only place where you have noticed issues? Is there an error code when the call gets disconnected? Does the signal fluctuate or improve when you are outdoors? Looking forward to further assisting.

Yes this area is the only place I have noticed the issue.  There is no error but the connection is 1 to 2 bars inside at most.  I suspect that the person on the other ends hangs up because they can't hear me.  I have to go outside to make a call.  The data works ever now and then.  Even if I go outside data does not improve unless I drive about 1 to 2 miles from the area.

Any Wi-Fi available at your work? If not you may be SOL. Not sure how good your phones reception is compared to to other Verizon phones? I usually have no problems making calls with only 1 bar with my Droid Max.

If out of contract you may need to consider AT&T or Cricket as an alternative.

digitalnewt,

I appreciate those details. Think of your device as a two way radio. Signal will always decrease indoors. Additionally, building materials will definitely play a huge part in signal.

There are settings that may be adjusted to help with the concern. Which make/model device are you using?

I have a iPhone 6s.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to improve my signal.  I have noticed I get no coverage at all if I go into a conference room.  Something must be blocking the signal.  I did found out that this company has an AT&T repeater.  Wish it was a Version repeater.

Go into the settings menu & make sure LTE is set to data only instead of voice & data.

Does your workplace have Wi-Fi you can use?

digitalnewt Having a good signal is crucial, let's see what we can do to imporve it for you. Does this only happen in the conference room? Can you make/receive calls in this room? What happens when you are in this room?
