I've had the 5.1.1 update for a few weeks but I continue to get the message that a software update is available to install (5.1.1) and that installation will take approximately 17 minutes. I'm managing this by scheduling the update for the next day each time it appears but it continues to appear. Any suggestions about what I should do or how to turn off this notification?

Is the update installed and you are still getting the notification or are you also deferring it?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Bluestar, there was a new update to 5.1.1 released a week ago. The old version (N910VVRU2BOK3) was released on 1/11/2016. The new version (N910VVRU2BPA1) was released on 2/5/2016. You might still have the old version and that is why you are getting the notifications to update. Check under Settings, then About phone and see what version you have (listed under Baseband version),

Thanks so much, stargazer. I do have the old (original) version of 5.1.1. Guess I'll stop deferring the new version's installation now.

I thought might be the case since you mentioned that you have had the 5.1.1 for several weeks and the newest upgrade was only a week old. if you want to know about some of the fixes that I noticed see my post:
