I'll get a status on my message program that the message didn't download, but no other info. No way to tell whom its from or what the message is. No way to retry to get it.? Very frustrating.

Joddt, I would also be troubled if I could not download a message. Let’s get this figured out. When did this problem start? What kind of Android phone do you have? What type of message is this?

It has always done this. I have a Droid Turbo. I don't know what type of
message this is because all it says is "message not downloaded". I do know
it has given me trouble with downloading multimedia messages. But
sometimes I've found that people have told me they sent me just a regular
message and it hasn't downloaded either. We do live in an area with
limited service. - we have a booster at our house. But my phone was
within range the whole time when this current incident happened. I use the
messaging program that was on the phone with the green box with darker
green lines on it... I don't know what its called. I tried once switching
to the "Verizon messaging" but it was taking hours converting my messages
over so I stopped it - I didn't know what that was all about and it was
ringing as it did each one... I couldn't take it anymore...

Is your phone's mobile data turned off? This shouldn't affect SMS messaging, but it will affect all MMS (Picture, Video, Group) messaging.

And I can get group messages. And pictures if they are sent as an
attachment. But not if they are the main message. Or not emoticons.

I just did that and it downloaded his message, and also one with a picture
as well. The problem is this doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes they
come through, sometimes they don't.
