Up until this morning I had used a little less than 1GB data with 8 days left in my data cycle. Somehow my phone used .58 GB of data today while I was driving my car and not using the phone. How can that happen and can I found out what used the data?

Your personal private investigators have come to the rescue. We know how important it is to keep track of data, First I would like to give you information on data usage. When you check data usage the usage is estimated. Are applications being completely closed when not in use? What make/model device do you have?

A couple of suggestions I can provide are as follows:
Go into Settings > Cellular > scroll down to Use Cellular Data Usage For and toggle off the apps you don't want to use cellular data. You can also add the Verizon data widget to your Today screen and then you can tap on it to open the My Verizon Mobile app. When this pulls up go to Data Utilization and it will provide some insight into what data is being used... this will aid in selecting the toggles I mentioned above. In order to install the widget you have to have the My Verizon Mobile app installed. Pull down on the notification panel from the top > make sure your on the Today tab > scroll to the bottom and tap on edit > click the green plus sign next to My Verizon Data.
Hope this helps!
