You can use Cloud storage, like Verizon Cloud, or iCloud/iTunes to save and access files. You phone has more than 8GB space, but the system is probably taking up a fair amount of that space. You don't have an SD card slot, so outside of using virtual space with cloud services instead of physical storage , you have no way to add more storage.
