Is it only the account owner that can cancel a phone contract or it could be anyone that could cancel a phone contract?

It saddens me to see you are looking to cancel service forrest_canton. What's making you want to cancel your account? Anything we can help with? Only to the Account Owner may request disconnect of a line on the account. We must also speak with the account before a request to disconnect is completed. In addition, if you have been added to the account as Power Of Attorney, you may also have authorization to disconnect the account.

Thank You,

It saddens you Verizon CS Rep?  Really?

First of all GOOD FOR YOU FOREST CANTON IM IN THE SAME MODE FOR THE SAME REASON...ish.

Let me call [removed] VCSP.  I had two phones, two lines, yada yada.  My daughter ran away "stealing" one of my phones.  Verizon couldn't seem to stop her from hacking my account, their security, whatever.  The Legal Dept put the phone on the stolen list.  My daughter was STILL able to have the phone turned on with a different number on someone else's account.  HA HA Verizon, cuz the FAMILY BASE I cancelled every month since August still sent me NIGHTLY updates with her new #, and THE OTHER ACCOUNT OWNER's goings on on his phone and his wife's phone.  WAY TO GO.  So, suddenly both phones are shut off.  When mine went live...MY 2ND LINE HAD BEEN TURNED OFF, A $500+ FEE FOR EARLY TERM WAS CHARGED TO ME AND MY PHONE WAS ON A BRAND NEW ACCOUNT DELETING EVERYTHING IN MY ORIGINAL ACCOUNT (EXCEPT THE BILLS EH?) AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE NEW ACCOUNT VERIZON SET ME UP ON...WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN HAVING TWO PHONES AND GAVE ME 1 G OF DATA...1G?  I SNEEZED THAT JUST 2 SECONDS AGO.

I ASSURE YOU I NEVER ONCE AGREED TO ANY OF THIS.  I NEVER TURNED HER PHONE OFF, NOR MY OWN, I NEVER AGREED TO ANY BILLS, ANY NEW CONTRACT AND NO NEW PLAN BUT THAT'S WHAT I GOT AND FOR 2 MONTHS IVE CALLED VERIZON ON THEIR [removed] AND YESTERDAY, THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT ALL OF THAT WAS DONE BECAUSE OF A PRICE DESCREPANCY.  OH WE HAVE THAT NOW FOR SURE BUT NOT ONE SHRED OF PROOF DO THEY HAVE.

THEY BELIEVE THEY CAN DO WHATEVER BECAUSE WE ARE ALL CATTLE...OR CHATTLE...HOWEVER, WAKE UP FOLKS..CALL [removed].  TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS.  IF THEY BROKE A CONTRACT SHARED BY YOU AND "THEM"  TAKE THEM TO COURT.

Let's see you lie your way through that VCSP.

In your case...honestly your anger needs to be more towards your daughter since she appears to be the cause of the issues. Not sure what phone she had but if it were an iPhone and you had Find My iPhone activated on it you would have been able to go online and flag the phone as lost/stolen, locked it to keep her from using it, and wiped it of all of its info. Of course that's all dependent on you actually having access to the iCloud info in order to do so. The rest of it...sounds like you're saying verizon closed your accounts and opened you a new one without your permission? If they closed the account she was on and she had recently gotten a phone (or was on a payment plan for the phone) then that would explain the $500 fee...it would be whatever the ETF was plus remaining fees for the device. Where you wanting the phone to remain on and continue to make monthly payments? Perhaps you can sue her in small claims court for the fees and/or the device? I know it's not a pleasant thought having to sue your child but it's an option. At any rate, you're clearly upset about whatever all took place so I'm not sure anything anyone says will be taken in to consideration. Hopefully you can get things resolved with your daughter.

You know what, I want to thank you for your email. Yes I am angry but NO I don't want to be disgruntled and yuckier. I really appreciate the reality check. Sincerely.

I have tried for months to get Verizon to simply do what they promised. Yes I did want to keep my phone on and yes, the daughter surely has her lion's share of rotten right now but that is nothing that I can have much success at either. In the mean time, Verizon without permission turned off her phone thereby making our contract broken. Than they charge me for it, turn off my phone and create security and privacy breeches all the while trying to make me uphold a contract I didn't break....EVER. Than, to open up a NEW account set up without my input, knowledge, or permission but probably with the intention to save me continued privacy breeches and such...I GET THAT I REALLY DO but, mind you, the account they opened is way more money and way less phone/data/etc and is impossible to even pay off since the new account came with the old account insanity . It's unacceptable from day to night and now they want to force me to uphold a contract I did enter into and did not break AND a contract I didn't enter into at the same time.

Maybe it's partly because they have such a mass customer service base with little to no connection to each other, let alone this one customer coupled with (I believe) the nerve that comes with being basically the #1 cell company out there...I have been railroaded. Maybe with all that is going on it looks as though I probably should just take my lumps with sugar and cut my stress level since obviously it wouldn't cut my losses, I see that too some moments..and I probably am just having a hard time doing so because..well really...don't I wish that this was the only lump giving issue on me right now. Pride tied to devastating loss is never ever good...but I just feel like this...

There is so much sometimes in any person's life that swirls a bit out of control or is uncontrollable at that time...my issues rank there mostly but this Verizon thing, I mean, I studied Contract Law, I know right from wrong and I have fully documented proof of what this one company has done that spans from simply pissing me off to breaking the "law" contract law that is...and where I may not have a chance to right other stuff this one seems like a slam dunk. You can't break a contract of your own volition and then opt for the victim in that contract to pay for your wrongs....does that seem right to at least believe? Maybe not. Maybe everything is just that broken but wrong is just wrong and I hate being wronged AND being made to continually feel wrong, not be able to make so much as a phone call and then charged/peanalized to the n-th degree, for that which I had no part in causing.

However, I DID hear you..I took a moment and I considered your email..still am. So maybe there is hope??

Maybe I am just dreamin! Date: Fri, 28 Aug 2015 06:13:53 -0700

forrest_canton, We want to keep you as a happy customer. It sounds like you want to remain a customer of ours, which makes me happy.  Are you currently under a two year agreement or device payment? What specific concerns do you have that I can address?

If Verizon closed the account(s) without your wanting that to happen it seems like you could get them to reverse the change...assuming you haven't waited to long to dispute it. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding if the change was made after contacting Verizon? Hopefully the rep that responded on here can help you get to the bottom of this.

Yes, under a 2-year contract right now, but don't need it to be terminated just yet.
