Been with Verizon since long before it was Verizon (1995) but that doesn't matter. Still get charged the $40 upgrade fee while new comers get hundreds to switch. What kind of BS is that? I'll probably switch next renewal to some, other service who cares about their current customers.

They couldn't care less how long as you been a customer. In fact the longer you've been with them they assume you're going to stay with them so ?

So you are going to switch to a company who offers you (now a new customer) $300 to switch...while they are not giving this promo to their current customers. I guess the shoe feels different on the other foot, doesn't it. "I'm mad this company doesn't give me stuff for being a long time customer! I will go to a different company who doesn't give long term customers stuff!" Think about it.

Nobody told you that you had to pay the $40 upgrade fee. You chose to take the subsidy. You could have paid full retail or gone on Edge and avoided the fee.

As a long term customer, if you have a contract completed, you can get your annual charges reduced by up to $300. Forgo a new phone for a year and you get your $300.

I agree with Weth. You wouldn't believe how many times I would see people run into a store on THE DAY they were eligible to get a new phone. Even though the old one that they had was working great.

I would just play the switch game every contract end. Over to a new company that gives the best offer.
