I can't figure out how to add a group contact to gmail. I added on my phone contacts but then couldn't find the group. Is under phone contacts where I add an email group?
That is a great question farmergirl. I can certainly assist. Regrettably, there isn't a native way in which to send an email to a group from your Google contacts. You can however use a 3rd party application like Gmail Group Share to do this for you. You just need to go into the Play Store to install it and go into its settings and check "Show System Groups" and if applicable "Show Invisible Groups" to make sure all of your groups show up.
