Frustrated again

So got my bill this morning and all of a sudden it went from like usually $160 to $221. I called into 611 and first got some guy who i just couldnt understand his accent, then i asked to speak to someone else and the told my that i was being charged for the phone i upgraded 9 monhs ago. I said what have i been paying on this whole time. She said the old phone. WTF. Nobody told me i would have to pay on the old phone for another 9 months, especially since the only reason i wasnt getting charged for the new phone was some mistake on Verizons part. We are already paying $160/mo for 2 phones and only one uses any data. Maybe this is the final straw. Those tmobile commercials are looking pretty good. Cant be any worse.

Funny i got home today to find a letter from Verizon saying "due to an error Activating the edge device(s) you purchased on 9/12/2014, your verizon wireless account has not been billed" So the phone i thought i was making payments on was not the new phone but the old phone. So now im supposed to finish the payments on the old phone AND start making the payments on the new phone.

I was told once you had paid half on the phone ($300) you could upgrade. Nobody said i would have to finish paying the rest. The edge program is the biggest rip off in cell phone history. All it is is a way for Verizon to get full retail price for even more phones than they did before. Now im being charged 9 months later. And BTW i responded to your PM hours ago and got no response. I also left a message with a senoir account specialist and havent gotten a call back either.

Well im off to browse the T-mobile rate plans.

Where is the old phone?

If you edge up, it is required your turn in the old phone in trade and that it be in excellent working condition.

If you bought your Edge phone when the rules in effect were still upgrade at 50%, then the process was you can Edge Up once you reached 50%, send the old phone back, and get a new phone and start a new Edge payment plan.

Your situation does seem very unusual though. Are you saying you had an older phone on Edge agreement that you reached 50% payments on (and your original agreement allowed Edge Up at 50%), and you Edged Up on 9/12/2014? Did you then send in your old phone as required? Verizon then continued to have your Edge payments on your old device and just now realized you are not making payments on the new phone? Did you activate the new phone rigth away on the account you did the Edge Up on? Are you trying anything funny with an Edge upgrade and an unlimited account on a different line by never activating the Edge phone but just putting a SIM in the phone?

Looks like Verizon doesnt give a shit. The CSR never called me back. The rep on here told me to PM him with my info. I did and never heard back. Its been 9 months. To be honest i cant remember what happend with the old phone. I dont think anybody ever told me to send it back. If they had i would have. I have never had to send back a phone before unless it was a warranty issue. If i was supposed to send it back someone should have said so. I certainly didnt want it it was a horrable phone.

That is what Edge Up is all about, sending your phone back to get an early upgrade.  That is likely the problem, and Verizon won't let you out if not paying for the phone you didn't send back.  I didn't know doesn't cut it.

Who reads all that crap? I go by what they tell me. Either way Verizon customer service is shit. I left a message for them to call me back and they never did. They didnt even know what it was for. Also the rep on here asked me to PM him my info i did that as well never heard back. I currently waiting to hear what Tmobile can for us and if it looks good i will part ways with Verizon. The edge is the biggest rip off in cell phone history. Its just a way for them to get full price for the phones. Only reason i did it was because i was told i could upgrade after i paid half off, nobody said i would have to keep paying for it. Who would do that? Fuck Verizon! Tmobile will be happy to get our 4 lines and $175/mo
