I never had to worry about data plan minutes (was grandfathered in the Verizon unlimited data plan until recently) but with the new SMS app on the S6 if I use a voice recording to send an SMS message does it counts towards my data plan usage or is it still considered a plain old text message? Is there a calculation to determine how much data is used per second of audio?
Never thought about this as well, but what about MMS messages with pics or video?

Messaging (sms/mms) is not counted towards data use. A picture or video or voice message is still considered part of the messaging portion of the plan.
