Why does my battery drain so fast after an update?

I upgraded to iOS 8.3 and now my battery is crap.  It used to hold a charge 1 even 2 days and now it drains in about 6 hours.  It's making me nuts?  I have insurance, is this covered?

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your phone since the upgrade. This shouldn't be happening. Insurance covers if the phone is lost, stolen, or damaged, for a deductible. However, if there's manufacturer's issues, we can look into your warranty options. You can also reach out to Apple to make an appointment and have a specialist troubleshoot and fix. You can reach out to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/ or 800-692-7753.

I'm sorry Kimertysue.
We want you to have a great working device. Let's get this addressed. Is the device damaged? Has the device been reset since the update? Please power down remove and reinsert the Sim card and retest.

No, my phone has not been damaged. I have reset my phone but I took your advise and took the Sim card out and re powered the phone.  The battery is still loosing power a lot faster then it used to.  I have insurance.  Can I get a new phone?  It's lost 2% just in the time I've been typing this.  I've never had this problem with this phone before.  Will insurance take care of this?  Thank you.

Insurance I don't believe covers batteries. Unfortunately the more an IPhone is used the more the battery drains. It's kind of like a double edge sword because the phone gives you so much but it does indeed use a lot of battery. I have never owned an IPhone that had a battery last for a whole entire day let alone 2.

Things that drain your battery:

- Internet/3G Network Usage

- Location Services

- Apps

- Brightness of your display

I usually lower my brightness during the day when I least use it and I am able to get at least 10 hours of battery out of my IPhone. If you want a charged battery at all times I suggest buying a MOFI phone case. You can charge the case to bring out with you during the day and it charges your phone without having to use a charger. This works well for me as I am always on the go.
