email notifications

have a droid maxx  the email count # will not go away. I have uninstalled the account and reinstalled several times. the only time it does not show a number of emails is immediately after re installing. as soon as I check the email again I get ANOTHER number that will not go away.

Any suggestions?

let's get this addressed! What email address is it? Do other email accounts work ok? Did this change after an app was installed?
