No audilbe alerts when I receive a text????

My Turbo recently started giving no audible alerts when I rec'd a text and only a short start of ringtone with incoming calls.  I chatted with cust svc, we put phone in safe mode and texts from rep gave alert.  Back in normal mode I removed a recent app I had added that I stopped notifications from. Phone gave notification sounds.  Later, phone went back to previous with no audible alerts for texts; broken up short ringtone with calls.  I removed all recent apps I have added except Google Wallet.  This app replaced Softcard app which Google purchased.  I ass-umed the app would work like the Softcard app.  Anyway, any other thoughts on what would cause audible notifications not to occur?  Volume is up, settings match those on my husband's Turbo (his works).  There is too much bloatware on this phone, but cannot remove most of it.

I regret to hear of the issues with your Turbo! It seems like you did a generous amount of troubleshooting. Have you completed a factory reset? Are your contacts and pics backed up? If not, lets backup with the cloud first.
