Cruising

We are leaving on a cruise soon.  If we put our phones in airplane mode and turn off the data option, will we be charged roaming fees?  I would like to use my phone to take pictures and keep the time.

Thanks!

As long as you leave it in Airplane Mode, you will be fine.  Just remember, if at any time, you take it out of Airplane Mode while away from the U.S., you will undoubtedly get hit with text and data charges, so only take it out of Airplane mode once you get off the boat and on solid land in the U.S.  Make sure you are away from the ship as they sometimes have their own cell systems and you could inadvertently connect to their and have the above problem.
