Hoe can I recover text messages which I have previously deleted

Last fall I received a text message and picture that I did not save to my phone and accidently deleted.  how can I recover this?

You can't unless it was in a previous backup and you want to restore your phone with that backup. You will lose any texts or data on your phone that isn't in that particular backup though so I wouldn't suggest doing it if you have more recent texts that you wanted to keep. Unless you forward those to email.
