My phone will not connect to other devices using the USB. I once used it to charge the phone in my car, but now it won't connect and the phone wont connect to the computer either.
I tried multiple cables. However, I dont think it is the cable because It connects my husbands phone just fine, and if my phone is connected to the wall outlet plug, it charges without a problem.
When i plug it in there is no notification on my phone or computer (there is when my husbands Maxx is pugged in)
I saw someone say it just takes awhile for some phones to connect, its been about 15 mins.
Under "wireless & Networks", "tethering & mobile hotspot" , "USB tethering" it says "USB not connected"
Is there some setting I need to change? or if my phone just busted?

You should get a notification, by chance does one phone have an SD card and one not? Are both phones at the same Android software version? What phone do you have?
You can look under settings->storage and see if there is any USB settings there or press menu and see if USB is an option there.

I have a Droid Maxx and fivel computers. Not all of them automatically recognized the Droid Maxx. In that case you need to go into Device Manager of the computers operating system to configure, so the computer will recognize the phone thru the USB port. On the car don't know.

The Same computer, Same cord, my phone does not connect but husbands does. Same Droid Maxx. We only got the phones a month ago. Nothing has been added to the phones.
So its not the cord and not the computer. There might be something i have to switch on on the phone or there is something wrong.
Under settings - storage - USB disk - it is not detected.
Under "wireless & Networks", "tethering & mobile hotspot" , "USB tethering" it says "USB not connected"

Never-mind the setting on the Droid Maxx. When you plug your phone into the USB port of your computer. Then go into the Device Manager of the computer what is showing?

You might need to go into the settings on the phone, find developer mode (if it isn't there, then go to About Phone, down to Build Number and tap on it 10 times, the go back to the settings menu and developer mode should be there) and turn on USB Debugging. It changes how your phone interacts with the computer

That is not used to get the computer to recognize The Droid Maxx for what they are trying to do. They need to plug the Droid Maxx into the USB port of the computer the go into the Device Manager of the computer. That is the first thing they need to do.
It then could be an issue of Administrator accounts and permissions on the computer. Where there are two uses on the computer trying to use two identical smartphones.

Sometimes PCs get a little confused.
One of the first thing I would try, if your computer has multiple USB ports, is try using a different USB port.
