Why can't I receive messages from iPhones?

Just switched from an iPhone, now I can't get messages from people with iPhones, keeps wanting to send iMessages.  How do we change it?

Typical iMessage issue. You and millions of other Apple traitors.

Apple just released a fix for this issue not too long ago, and you can resolve it here:Deregister and Turn Off iMessage - Apple Support

Let me know if it works; I haven't tried this method yet!

I tried it.  The website says that it may take a few hours.  So, we'll see if later on this evening if everything works or not.
