Customer Service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!...I Plan on switching to another carrier ASAP!

I have always paid my bill on time and in full. I have an upgrade coming up November 19th 2014. I was interested in upgrading to the Edge program so I called the Customer Service Line and spoke to an agent and she answered all of my questions and everything went through the whole thing pricing and everything she gave me a price of $180.00 a month which was reasonable. I told her I was going to go to the Verizon Retailer the next day to set everything up and low and behold the gentleman I spoke to there had a completely different amount that it would cost which was like over $100.00 more than what I pay now a month. So I called the Customer Care Line back and spoke to a very ignorant woman who I explained to her that I know of an early upgrade special (not Edge) that is extended to people who have upgrades until November 15th 2014 which is 4 days before my date. She was very rude with me but when I asked her what my early termination fee would be. Then it was oh we don't want to loose you as a customer!...My response was well it's 4 days difference and you wont let me upgrade early so apparently you don't care too much about losing a loyal customer. The Edge Program isn't suitable for everyone and that's the only option they want to give to people now. So as soon as I get with the other person on my plan I plan to switch to another carrier. It's unfortunate that you can't accept that you'll need to wait til 11/19, the date in which you signed a contract. Customer service is only terrible when they uphold your original agreement.

Well maybe they should make sure their phones uphold and last as long as their contracts do. I have no problem waiting if I had a phone that didn't constantly shut off on me no matter what you are doing. LucasV

So they should make an exception for you because of 4 days? Ok then those who upgrade on the 20th would be mad. So ok extend for them. Well then those on the 21st are mad. Are you seeing a trend here?

By the way you can early Edge upgrade since that promo applies to anyone within a YEAR of their upgrade date. So you actually qualify for that. The Nov 15th promo is for those looking for a discounted upgrade and 2 year contract.

I've had plenty of devices last the full two year contract. Instead of asking for an upgrade, have you questioned whether anything can be done to fix your device? There are plenty of sites that can assist in correcting most software failures.

Please keep in mind that with your new carrier, the phones will be made by the same manufacturers and come with the same warranties.
