Why is wi-fi not working on my iPhone 4s?

Since I upgraded my iphone 4s to 7.1.1 my wifi and 3G are no longer working. The wifi button is grayed out in settings.

This is obviously a system bug since I see so many people have the same issue. I see that resetting the phone doesn't seem to do the trick. What can be done to fix this?

We can see your concern, Farina21.
In a situation where the WiFi is greyed out after the update, we ask that you remove a case if you have one on the device. This can block the antenna.
Once that has been removed, you should reset the network settings by following the steps here http://bit.ly/QCxrjH. If that doesn't help, we would need to check on your warranty.
