How can I tell which ringtones have been assigned to my contacts?

how can you tell what ringtone you've assigned to a contact?

On some phones it's simply a matter of opening that contact's entry in your Contacts app and looking; you may have to scroll down a bit in the contact's listing to see it.  On other phones, for whatever reason, it isn't listed in the contact's entry, so you have to go through the motions of editing the contact to set a ringtone so that you can see which one you've already assigned.
