All three smartphones run the Android™ operating system, but different versions. The S III and the S 4 have Jelly Bean, while the S 5 has KitKat 4.4.2.

KitKat employs the latest technology to deliver crisp visuals and a seamless, more immersive experience for you. Launch voice commands with two words, “OK, Google”, and read more easily with immersive mode. The status and notification bars disappear when you’re in certain full-screen apps or games, but, don’t worry, you can bring them back with just a swipe of your finger. Plus, KitKat is the most efficient Android operating system yet, using less power overall while running the same apps and programs.

S4 runs on kit Kat on AT&T, Sprint, T mobile and US cellular. We all know what verizon is after$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but please do not treat your current galaxy owners on your network like ignorant when you perfectly know that samsung already delivered the software update for the s4 and note 3 and you guys are holding it on purpose making a lot of current users unhappy and angry.

I hear what you are saying, but VZW is not hearing you AT ALL.  If you are above the ages of the 20 something crowd or maybe the 30 something crowd as I am they feel you are just to old for an android phone and push you toward one of their flip phones

verizon is notorious for pushing updates LONG after everyone else. the sad fact is that if we really want verizon AND the latest version of android, we have to buy a new phone every year. by the time these "older" (and the note is only 6 months old) phones see kit kat, google will have previewed this year's newer version.

Most anyone who has been with VZW for any length of time know about the way VZW updates but they can show their dissatisfaction with it.  I have observed more dissatisfaction with updates this time than many in the past.  This dissatisfaction with not putting out a somewhat timely update and not even really giving a date and maybe giving changes to that date than any update I have seen and I have seen many android updates.  This is even worse than the failed update they gave to the S3 which made many not all S3's useless as a phone and then they spent the next week denying anything about a failed update and then they started blaming Samsung for the failed update.  They finally stumbled out the door with a good update 2 to 3 weeks later.  It does not appear to me as a good business plan but it is not my business.  I am just one of the customers that put up with this and complains a very small amount from time to time about the updates.  I would also like to see VZW offer more phones to their customers with 32 gb or 64 gb of internal memory with a removable battery and an SD slot.  I am not an Iphone user and never will be as they never ever have a removable battery in anything.

Unfortunately, you guys took too long and are now losing customers because of the company's ignorance. Obviously you are just a CSR and this isn't your fault, but please pass on the feedback that we are sick of the excessive/junk apps, and I want my bootloader unlocked so I can update myself. Voiding my warranty and having a safe device is NOT of concern to me, it's actually being able to do what I want with MY device that I OWN. NOT VERIZON.
