I'm sorry to hear about the error you are receiving on Verizon Cloud! I would love to resolve this for you. Are you attempting to backup media, contacts, or messages? Is there any other text in the error or just the code 4001? Are you connected to WiFi or the VZW Data network (4G or 3G)?

After a number of tries I was able to do a back up on the verizon cloud.
But I am still having a problem with dropped calls

Let's put a stop to those dropped calls! Where are you experiencing the dropped calls (zip)? How long has this been going on?
