Why won't my Droid Mini pair with the Bluetooth in my car?

My new Droid Mini will not successfully pair with my car ('10 Mazda5). My previous  VZ phone paired easily and the hands-free worked as designed. I deleted that phone from the car and went through the pairing process per the owner's manual. The phone imndicates that it is paired with the car, but the car does not recognize the phone.  I have gone through this several times, and re-booted the phone a couple times.  Each time the phole links, but the car doesn't.

What's the next step?

Got it - I had not deleted the car from the old phone, and it was still powered up. Apparently it was interfering with pairing the new phone. All paired-up now.
